7-stringed Bass viol made by italian luthier Marco Ternovec in Belgium, 2001. After Michel Colichon, Paris, 1691. Like English viols from the 2nd half of the 17th c. it has a five-pieces bent stripe top and a geometrical monocrome painted decoration on the belly. After my request, it has a truly exquisite carved head borrowed from an original treble viol by Nicholas Bertrand. Exquisite craftmanship and sound, as expected from any of Marco's instruments, often tested by Wieland Kuijken, as mine has. Viol and bow in excellent condition, as they have only had an active playing life from 2001 to 2006. Included in the price is a baroque bow made by Belgian archetier Pierre Patigny and EFL rigid case.I am selling it as I now play early plucked instruments and want to afford a new instrument. The instrument can be seen/played in Oslo, Norway. Letting it all go for US$6.000. Pictures can be seen on the luthier's homepage here:
